2006 Newsletter
The disappointing pre season is behind but with what Wee
Ghord describes as his second new Celtic team we can look forward with
optimism on the start of the SPL 2006/7 & European Champions
League. Here are a few of the comings and goings:

Membership
Once again we are approaching a membership of 100 members - so I think
I can safely say we are now recognised as a well established Celtic
Supporters Club. There has been some turnover, with 35 new
members and still a few from last year still to renew. We will
continue take on new members, so please encourage friends and family
members to re-sign or join for the first time.
We now have a few new members with Glasgow addresses "Welcome Bhoys" . I would also like to extend a special Bhoys of Ilford welcome to our new St Pauli Celtic supporter – Markus Boehmer.
European Champions League
The club were NOT allocated any tickets for European fixtures, but
via Martin and Barry's season books we have two away tickets for
Benfica and Copenhagen. If you would like to be included in the raffle
for these please forward your name to Martin.
For the home fixtures we may also possibly have one for Man U and
three each for Copenhagen and Benfica. Again let Martin know if you
are interested.
There are approximately twelve members heading for Lisbon (Benfica)
at present with no tickets. If you can help here please let us know.
Club Function
There will be a Celtic / Irish night in Maguire's on Friday 6th
October. " CLAYMORE " will be our live band. For those who
have seen them before I am sure you will agree with me, it is a great
sing along night.
These functions are organised at the request of our members but
they can only continue to be successful if you the members attend and
bring along your friends and family. It will be easier on the night if
you buy your tickets in advance from Martin. Price £6. Any donations
towards raffle prizes will be welcome.
It has been a while
since we held one of these nights so let's fill the place and have a
wonderful Celtic night.
Player of the Year
John McKernan (Chairman) wrote to Shaun Maloney informing him of
our vote for Shaun as our player of the year. Unfortunately to date we
have had no reply. John will follow up on this.

Keeping in touch with our growing membership has to be a two way
process. If you have questions, concerns, ideas etc please contact us
on the numbers below. You also need to let us know if you have changed

Our next two members meetings will be:

Polo Shirts
We are making progress here and an announcement will be made in the
near future. I feel a Christmas present coming!
Who are Celtic
With the eyes of Europe on Celtic, waiting for us to slip up, let's
not let Celtic or our supporters club down by tarnishing our deserved
excellent reputation of being the greatest fans in the world. We have
the trophies to prove it.
Celtic has produced a Social Mission Statement which I urge all
members to read. A copy will be posted on the notice board or see the
Celtic View.
Can I also remind members of our Club Rules?
The Club shall be non-Political and non-Sectarian
Any member found guilty of any behaviour that may be
prejudicial to the goodwill of the club will be expelled by the
committee.
Objects: 1) To support Celtic Football Club.
2) Social friendship among any football supporters.
Club Trip
It was proposed to have a club trip to Celtic Park for the
Motherwell game on 21st October. Please see Martin if you
are interested.
Our first bus trip to a game (Coventry) was eventful. The club
would consider doing it again but I must remind members, payment for
travel and match tickets must be strictly in advance.
London News
Due to lack of interest The London Association of Celtic Supporters
Clubs has been wound up. There was no cost to The Bhoys of Ilford.
The Hoops Bar (Oval) has closed. There may be a New Hoops Bar. If
we here anything we will let you know.
Club Ticket
The club has one season book which is available to all members. We
will be happy to advise / help members with travel / accommodation if
you wish to attend games at Celtic Park.
Membership Card
All members should have received their membership card. Remember on
production of your card at any time you will receive discounted drink
prices at Maguire's. See bar staff for details.
